Government Paramedical Colleges in Delhi: A 2026 Admission Guide

Which government paramedical colleges in Delhi are real? See the AIIMS, IPU and DSEU admission routes, fees, and backup options for 2026.

AIIMS New Delhi’s 2026 seat matrix for BSc paramedical programs lists only 35 seats across four courses: 20 in operation theatre technology, 11 in medical radiology and imaging technology, and 2 each in dental hygiene and dental operating room assistance. Across all participating AIIMS campuses the matrix totals 680 seats, while 8,273 candidates qualified in the 2025 exam. Numbers like these explain why searches for government paramedical colleges in Delhi return crowded lists that quietly mix public institutes with private ones.

This guide separates the two groups. It names the institutions that are genuinely government-run, shows how each admission route worked in the 2026 cycle, and flags where fees surprise people. Students who need a backup with a Delhi NCR address can also compare it with Arnica HealthTech College (AHT College), a private paramedical college in Hodal, Palwal, covered near the end.

A note on transparency: AHT College published this guide, and it is a private institute. It does not appear in the government list below. Every government detail comes from the published admission pages and news reports linked in the sources, so confirm dates and seats on each official website before you apply.

How Each Admission Route Works

AIIMS paramedical entrance exam

AIIMS does not use NEET UG scores for its BSc paramedical programs. It runs a computer-based test of 90 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes, with 30 questions each in physics, chemistry, and biology or mathematics. A correct answer earns one mark, and a wrong answer costs one-third of a mark. In 2026 the exam centers were limited to Delhi NCR.

Candidates must turn 17 by December 31 of the admission year and hold a class 12 pass with English, physics, chemistry, and biology. Optometry and medical radiology and imaging technology also accept biology or mathematics. The 2026 application fee was ₹2,000 for general and OBC candidates and ₹1,600 for SC, ST, and EWS candidates.

The 2026 calendar gives a planning template. Basic registration opened on March 29, the exam took place on July 4, results followed on July 10, and the second counselling round closed on August 31. A student aiming for the 2026 session should expect a similar spring registration and summer exam, then confirm on aiimsexams.ac.in.

IPU paramedical entrance exam

GGSIPU conducts paramedical admissions for programs such as BPO, BASLP, BSc MLT, BSc Medical Imaging Technology, and radiotherapy technology. Registration for the 2026 session ran through March 21. The university also opened seven new health programs for 2026, including BSc Emergency Medical and Trauma Technology and optometry, with an application deadline of June 7.

Which government institutions take part, and how many seats they hold, changes with each information brochure. Read the current brochure before shortlisting, because older lists online often carry colleges that no longer participate.

DSEU healthcare programs

DSEU’s Centre for Healthcare, Allied Medical and Paramedical Sciences at Okhla II teaches BSc Emergency Medical Technology and BSc Dialysis Technology, designed with Apollo Medskills. BSc Medical Laboratory Technology runs at the Dwarka and Okhla I campuses. The emergency medical technology degree takes three years, includes a 12-month internship and a one-month biology bridge course, and accepts students with a 10+2 science background.

University College of Medical Sciences

UCMS lists a BSc in Medical Technology (Radiography). The ₹67,150 fee comes from a July 2025 listing, so ask the university for the current figure and entry route before budgeting.

Fees: Government Does Not Always Mean Cheap

Fee gaps inside the government group are wide. The UCMS radiography fee sits at ₹67,150, while the DSEU emergency medical technology degree is listed at ₹5.22 lakh in total, which includes the 12-month internship. The private Jamia Hamdard lists BSc Medical Laboratory Techniques at ₹4.63 lakh and BSc Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Techniques at ₹5.78 lakh.

The lesson is to compare the total program cost, internship terms, and what the fee covers rather than the ownership label. A cheaper government seat can still cost more than a private one if the internship is unpaid or the hostel is extra. Ask each college for a written fee schedule.

Names That Sound Official but Are Private

Several widely listed institutes carry names that suggest government backing. CollegeDekho describes the Delhi Paramedical & Management Institute as a private college, and it lists the Institute of Paramedical Science and Management in Delhi as private too. Anyone searching for an institute of paramedical technology in Delhi should check ownership before assuming a public seat.

Private does not mean poor quality. Ownership still affects fees, seat access, and how recruiters read a certificate, so it is worth knowing early. Four checks take ten minutes:

  • Confirm the college is affiliated with a recognized university or state board.
  • Find the approvals named in its admission brochure and verify them with the issuing body.
  • Check which body awards the final degree or diploma.
  • Make sure the fee receipt carries the institution’s full legal name.

What the New NCAHP Rules Mean for Applicants

The National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) now oversees 56 allied health sciences across 10 categories. It has told UGC that physiotherapy admissions require NEET UG, that occupational therapy follows from 2026-27, and that optometry, radiology, and lab science can use class 12 scores. This matters because paramedical courses are now formally called allied health programs, and course names will converge over time.

The Registration of Allied and Healthcare Professionals Regulations, 2026 let professionals register in one state and practice in another. Reports say registration cannot begin until the state councils’ autonomous boards are notified, and in July 2026 the Supreme Court pressed NCAHP and the states to show compliance. Until that settles, keep every admission document and prefer programs whose awarding university is clearly named.

Planning for the 2026 Session

The 2026 admission cycle is over, which leaves time to prepare properly for the next one. These steps follow the 2026 calendar, so confirm all dates once notifications appear.

  1. Match your class 12 subjects to the routes. Physics, chemistry, and biology keep every AIIMS program open, while mathematics students can aim only for optometry and medical radiology and imaging technology.
  2. Bookmark the official sites for AIIMS, GGSIPU, DSEU, and Delhi University. IPU registration opened on February 2 in 2026, earlier than AIIMS.
  3. Shortlist by the job you want: laboratory work, imaging, operation theatre support, or emergency care.
  4. Build a backup list of three or four private options before results arrive.
  5. Keep documents ready: class 10 and 12 marksheets, photograph, signature, thumb impression, and a government ID.

If You Miss a Government Seat: Nearby Private Options

With 680 AIIMS seats nationwide, most applicants need a second plan. AHT College sits at NH-2, Banchari, Hodal (Palwal), on the Delhi NCR belt in Haryana, which makes it reachable for students from Delhi, Faridabad, and Palwal. Its programs follow the vocational degree route and focus on practical training and hospital exposure, according to its course pages.

The college offers three bachelor programs and two master programs:

Students comparing imaging careers can start with the X-ray technician course guide. A wider view of the region is on the page for paramedical courses in Delhi NCR. Counselors are available on 7419111060, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 to 18:00.

Choosing Between a Seat and a Skill Path

Government seats in the capital are few, exam driven, and not always low cost. The practical response is to prepare for one entrance exam seriously while keeping a vetted backup list, instead of waiting for a single result. NCAHP registration will soon make the awarding body and course name matter more, so choose programs you can document clearly.

The next step is concrete: pick the exam you can prepare for between now and spring, and shortlist three backup colleges this month.
